Telugu OTT: How both hyped shows turned disasters

The Telugu OTT space saw two new outings recently and they are - Rana Naidu and Anger Tales. The makers of these two shows greatly hyped up and promised something fresh and interesting is on the offing.

But sadly, Anger Tales was a damp squib right from day 1 and it failed to connect with any section of the audience. It turned out to be one of the poorest outings in the Telugu OTT space in the recent past.

And then there's the Netflix original presentation Rana Naidu featuring the Daggubati duo of Rana and Venkatesh. This series also carried great promise but it went nowhere.

The lack of nativity factor for the Telugu audience and also the lack of strong emotional conflict have resulted in the show being turned down by the Telugu folk.

Comparatively, Rana Naidu is the better outing of these two shows but that doesn't mean it succeeds with its merits. This show also had a great potential but fell short drastically due to lethargic writing and misuse of resources.
