In a surprising move, music director Devi Sri Prasad has been removed from Pushpa 2: The Rule, despite his long-standing collaboration with director Sukumar. However, this time the decision to part ways wasn’t Sukumar’s but that of the film’s lead actor, Allu Arjun (Bunny).
According to reports, Bunny was upset with Devi for focusing more on his stage shows than the film’s music. After Devi had completed his work on Pushpa 2: The First Half, Bunny reportedly felt that Devi wasn’t giving enough attention to the project, especially with the film’s tight timeline. A director close to Bunny allegedly raised concerns about Devi’s priorities, which led Bunny to make the decision to replace him with a team of three other music directors.
Despite Devi’s attempts to discuss the issue with Sukumar, sources say Sukumar showed little interest in intervening. This has left fans and industry insiders shocked, as Devi’s music has been a highlight of many successful films.
