Ponniyin Selvan, the magnum opus directed by veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is one of the most ambitious projects in Tamil cinema history. The first instalment of the historical drama, which was released in theatres in September 2022, became one of the Tamil film industry’s all-time highest-grossing films. 

Now the highly anticipated Ponniyin Selvan 2, the second instalment of historical drama franchise, is set to be released in theatres on April 28, 2023. With less than a month for release, the team is busy with the promotions for the film. In this background, the team attended the pre-release event of this movie which was held in Hyderabad on Sunday. Dil Raju said, "Mani Ratnam garu's Geetanjali is my favourite film. I began my career in the film industry with his film, Amritha. We've released Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 in Telugu states under our banner and it was a big success. Under our banner, we are now releasing PS2 (Ponniyin Selvan Part 2). This is a film directed by Mani Ratnam garu and produced by Subaskaran. This multi-starrer film stars Vikram garu, Karthi garu, Jayam Ravi garu, Aishwarya Rai garu, Trisha garu, and many others.
