In a highly encouraging update for the Telugu folk residing in the city of Frisco, Texas, the Mayor, Jeff Cheney has deemed Sr NTR’s birthday, May 28 as Telugu heritage day.
“Telugu speaking people reside in almost every country They are great entrepreneurs, technocrats, scientists, politicians, and artists. One of the most renowned is former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, also known as NTR.
He instilled a feeling of pride and self-respect among Telgas at times when they were discriminated in India. His birth anniversary falls on May 28. and this year, Telugu people all over the world are celebrating his birth centenary” the media communication read.
“The Telugu community not only celebrates their rich culture and heritage but also strives to assimilate into the culture that is "One Frisco Community members instill a sense of duty in their children to make them better citizens. It’s hereby declared that May 28, 2023 as Telugu heritage day. The media communication added.
The initiative to get the Proclamation was done by Naren Guntupalli. Frisco ISD Trustee Gopal Ponangi and the Past President of Telugu Association of North Texas, Suresh Manduva met with Mayor Jeff Cheney and provided the information about NT Rama Rao and how NTR is an icon for Telugu speaking community worldwide
