Tom Holland Suffers Concussion On Spider-Man Brand New Day Set, Filming Halted
British actor Tom Holland, best known as Spider-Man, sustained a mild concussion while filming Marvel’s upcoming project Spider-Man: Brand New Day in the United Kingdom on Friday. The injury occurred during the shoot of an action sequence, forcing production to pause temporarily as a safety measure. Fortunately, no other cast or crew members were harmed. Doctors have advised Holland to take a short break to recover, leading Sony and Marvel Studios to halt shooting for a few days. The studios will convene to determine next steps, but no changes to the July 31, 2026 theatrical release have been announced.
Despite the incident, Holland appeared in public the following day in London, where he hosted a charity event for The Brothers Trust with his fiancée and co-star Zendaya. His presence reassured fans that his injury was not severe, though production will remain on hold until he is cleared to return to set.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth installment in the popular franchise starring Holland, following the massive success of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film introduces new faces including Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman, while Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprise their roles. Marvel favorites Mark Ruffalo and Jon Bernthal are also set to appear.
The film began shooting in Glasgow in August, with Holland earlier sharing his excitement about donning the Spider-Man suit for the fourth time. He noted how special it felt to have fans on set during the first day of filming. As fans eagerly await updates, Sony and Marvel remain committed to prioritizing the safety of the cast and crew, ensuring that production resumes smoothly after Holland’s recovery.
