Adipurush, Prabhas’s big budget action epic based on the epic of Ramayan had a fine run at the box office in the opening weekend. 

But the film is riddled with controversies and negativity in the North Indian belt now. 

There are many northern folk who are protesting that Adipurush distorts the facts and the belief systems from the holy mythology of Ramayan. There are even several court cases against Adipurush now. 

Well, this might negatively effect Rajamouli who intends to make Mahabharata one day. 

Adipurush’s backlash implies that the traditionals across India are not ready to welcome films that modernise the holy mythologies of the Hindu traction.  

In that case, Rajamouli making Mahabharata one day is also going to be a huge challenge. He might be a master craftsman but making a film on Mahabharata and risking the backlash is too much to process.
