OTT: Why is Amazon holding back Adipurush?

Prabhas and Om Raut's Adipurush had a failed run at the box office. After a bright start, the film came crashing down like a pack of cards as it eventually turned out to be a failure at the box office.

The massive stakes involved and the sensational pre-release theatrical rights made it impossible for the film to recover the money with its poor reviews and word of mouth.

Coming to the topic, it is confirmed that the post theatrical OTT rights of Adipurush are with Amazon Prime Video.

Usually with box office failures, Amazon looks to orchestrate a 4 week OTT release. there is a chance of them going for 3 weeks OTT release as well.

But in the case of Adipurush, the OTT giant is delaying the OTT release for some odd reason. It has been nearly 4 weeks since the film's release but the OTT release is still pending.

If delayed further, Adipurush will even fade out from the public memory and eventually become inexistant. Perhaps it is time for Amazon Prime to act before that and release the film at the earliest before its too late.
