Rana Daggubati is a jovial personality. He was at his witty best at the pre release event of King Of Kotha which was held in Hyderabad a couple of days ago.

However, one of Rana's comments at the event was taken out of context and there was a huge surge of controversy with regard to the same. 

Rana stated "There's this one Bollywood heroine who was on the phone, discussing about shopping in London with her husband while Dulqer was shooting for a scene. The difference in the dedication is staggering. Dulquer is so committed to work, despite the distraction from the heroine."

It was later concluded that Rana was speaking about Sonam Kapoor at the event. Shortly after this news blew up, Rana went on to issue an apology on social media. 

"I am genuinely troubled by the negativity that has been aimed at Sonam due to my comments, that are totally untrue and were meant entirely in a light-hearted manner. As friends, we often exchange playful banter, and I deeply regret that my words have been misinterpreted.

I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt apologies to Sonam and Dulquer, both of whom I hold in great esteem. I hope this clarification puts an end to any speculation and misunderstanding. Thank you for your understanding." Rana tweeted after the upsurge in the media reports about his speech at the event.
