KJQ Teaser: Deekshith Shetty and Shashi Odela Star in Latest Telugu Crime Drama

KJQ Teaser: Deekshith Shetty and Shashi Odela Star in Latest Telugu Crime Drama

A gripping new tale of power, betrayal, and ambition is on its way to Telugu cinema as the official teaser of KJQ – King Jackie Queen hits digital platforms. Starring Deekshith Shetty, Shashi Odela, and Yukti Thareja, the film is directed by KK and backed by producer Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner. The teaser was unveiled by Natural Star Nani, sparking immediate attention for its intense tone and stylized presentation.

Set in the volatile and violent 1990s, KJQ plunges audiences into the heart of an underworld turf war where survival depends on sharp strategy, unwavering ambition, and sheer nerve. The teaser opens with Deekshith Shetty, playing the role of King, a power-hungry figure determined to rule over his territory. He exudes determination and grit, embodying a character shaped by the desire to climb to the very top, no matter the cost.

Shashi Odela’s Jackie stands in stark contrast — unpredictable and instinct-driven, a classic daredevil who disrupts the hierarchy and thrives on chaos. Jackie is not just a wildcard in this game but a genuine threat to any structured plan, bringing tension to every scene he's in. Yukti Thareja plays Queen, the most enigmatic of the trio. Her composed demeanor and sharp wit hide an intensely calculating mind. Unlike the typical portrayal of female characters in crime dramas, Queen in KJQ is not a passive observer but a central figure whose decisions ripple across the power dynamics.

The technical finesse of the teaser adds greatly to its atmospheric weight. Cinematographer Nagesh Banell brings brooding, high-contrast visuals that reflect the internal turmoil of the characters and the gritty landscape of the criminal world. Poornachandra Tejaswi’s background score enhances the tension, with pulsating beats and subtle melodies that suggest deeper emotions beneath the violence. Together, these elements come together to promise a crime saga that's as psychological as it is physical — one driven by complex relationships, blurred loyalties, and the pursuit of dominance.

What sets KJQ apart is its retro-fuelled approach to storytelling. The 1990s setting is not just aesthetic but thematically vital — a time before digital surveillance, where influence was asserted through muscle, fear, and face-to-face confrontation. The film aims to capture the essence of that era's lawless underbelly, where titles like King, Jackie, and Queen were more than names — they were statuses fought over with blood and strategy. The teaser doesn’t give away much of the plot but skillfully hints at a high-stakes battle for supremacy. Each character introduces a new layer of tension, and their motivations appear entangled in power struggles and personal agendas. Whether they’re allies or enemies is left intentionally ambiguous, setting the stage for what could be a tale of shifting alliances and betrayal.

The backing by SLV Cinemas, known for their commercial successes, suggests KJQ may aim to blend raw storytelling with mass appeal. Director KK’s vision appears to walk a fine line between stylized violence and grounded emotion — a balance crucial for any crime drama to truly resonate with audiences. While no official release date has been announced yet, the teaser alone has stirred curiosity among fans of intense Telugu cinema. With strong performances, a moody setup, and a compelling soundtrack, KJQ – King Jackie Queen could well be one of the most talked-about crime dramas of the year.
