World's largest cinema screen announced in Nagpur

World's largest cinema screen announced in Nagpur
In a major announcement set to reshape the landscape of global cinema infrastructure, producers Abhishek Agarwal and Vikram Reddy revealed plans to build the world’s largest cinema screen in Nagpur. The announcement was made during the prestigious WAVES 2025 summit, which celebrates innovation and progress across India's media and entertainment sector.
The upcoming theater will mark a historic milestone for Indian entertainment, representing not just a technological marvel but also a statement of intent from India’s rapidly evolving cinema industry. The project aims to provide audiences with an unmatched visual and acoustic experience, signaling a bold step toward aligning Indian exhibition standards with the best in the world.

Abhishek Agarwal, known for producing impactful films and for his entrepreneurial vision, spoke passionately about the project. He described the opportunity to construct the world's largest cinema screen as a personal and national honor. Agarwal expressed his inspiration drawn from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to take Indian entertainment global. He extended heartfelt gratitude to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for supporting the project and recognizing its potential to transform not just Nagpur, but India's position in the global cinema map. According to Agarwal, the effort is not merely about constructing a theater but about showcasing the capabilities and ambition of Indian entertainment technology. With screen size, sound systems, and theatrical design poised to set new global records, the project has already caught the attention of industry insiders and film enthusiasts alike.

Vikram Reddy, co-founder of UV Creations and producer of multiple successful Telugu films, echoed Agarwal’s enthusiasm. Reddy reaffirmed that UV Creations has always aimed to enhance not only film production but also the cinematic viewing experience. He noted that their mission extends beyond storytelling to revolutionizing how films are watched in India.
Speaking about the vision, Vikram Reddy emphasized that creating great content must be matched with creating exceptional platforms for audiences to enjoy that content. He added that this upcoming screen in Nagpur is the perfect symbol of this dual commitment. Reddy thanked Prime Minister Modi for his belief in the potential of India’s creative industries and for encouraging initiatives that promote innovation, infrastructure, and national pride.

The project is expected to be a major boost for Nagpur, which is already positioning itself as a hub for logistics and infrastructure. With the world's biggest cinema screen on the way, the city is set to become a key destination for film lovers, cultural tourism, and global premieres. Industry observers note that this move could inspire a new wave of investment in cinema infrastructure across India. As digital platforms continue to dominate content consumption, large-format cinematic experiences are being reinvented to offer what homes and smartphones cannot scale, immersion, and shared social experiences. The Nagpur theater, once completed, is expected to host mega releases, international film festivals, and high-end entertainment events. In an era where India is seeking to export not just films but its cinematic infrastructure and innovation to global markets, this project stands as a beacon of what Indian creators and entrepreneurs can achieve. The cinema screen in Nagpur isn’t just a structure it’s a symbol of ambition, scale, and global readiness.
