Catherine Joins Chiranjeevi’s Film After 9 Years Old Rumours Resurface

Catherine Joins Chiranjeevi’s Film After 9 Years Old Rumours Resurface
Megastar Chiranjeevi is back with another highly anticipated Telugu entertainer, this time teaming up with hitmaker Anil Ravipudi. The film’s shooting is all set to kick off in the third week of May 2025, following a formal puja ceremony and launch. With pre-production nearly complete and most of the casting finalized, the project is swiftly moving into production without much delay.

Anil Ravipudi, known for his ability to blend humor, drama, and mass appeal, is reportedly planning to recapture the magic of Chiranjeevi’s vintage hits like Gang Leader, Rowdy Alludu, and Gharana Mogudu. With tight security around the script and cast, the team has successfully kept the storyline a secret, sparking widespread curiosity among fans and film circles alike.
Adding fuel to the excitement is the strong female lead cast. As predicted by insiders, Nayanthara is expected to play the lead heroine in this upcoming commercial entertainer. While there’s been no official confirmation yet, trusted reports suggest the production house has already agreed to her hefty remuneration, citing the significance of her character in the storyline.

However, the biggest surprise comes in the form of actress Catherine Tresa, who has officially been confirmed as the second lead. Her inclusion revives an old and intriguing chapter from Tollywood history. Back in 2017, Catherine was originally considered to star opposite Chiranjeevi in his comeback film Khaidi No.150, directed by VV Vinayak. Despite being the first choice, Catherine was unexpectedly replaced by Kajal Aggarwal, reportedly due to creative disagreements with Chiranjeevi’s daughter, Sushmita Konidela, who was working as the film’s stylist. Neither party confirmed or denied these speculations at the time, but the incident became a point of gossip in the industry.

Now, nine years later, Catherine finally gets her long-awaited opportunity to share screen space with the megastar. Though not the main heroine, sources say her role includes at least one or two songs with Chiru, offering her a significant on-screen presence. Fans of the actress are excited to see her in a mass entertainer alongside such a legendary figure.

Venkatesh's Role Remains a Secret as Promotions Are Strategized
Adding another layer to this already star-studded cast is the rumored inclusion of Victory Venkatesh. While his name has been attached to the project through inside sources, the makers have remained silent about his participation. If true, this would mark a rare and exciting collaboration, likely to draw fans from both megastars’ fandoms. Whether Venkatesh plays a cameo or a substantial supporting character is still under speculation.

The production house is also reportedly working on a carefully planned promotional campaign to reveal updates in phases. However, despite tight control, leaks have begun to surface, creating challenges for the team that is determined to keep critical plot details confidential. The film is aiming for a grand theatrical release during the Sankranthi 2026 season, one of the most profitable and competitive slots in the Telugu film calendar.

Given the festive release, stellar cast, and vintage-style mass appeal, expectations are sky-high. With Anil Ravipudi at the helm, known for delivering commercial successes, and Chiranjeevi's timeless charisma leading the charge, the film promises to be a major box office event. As fans eagerly await official teasers and updates, the return of Catherine Tresa alongside Chiru and the silent nod to past controversies adds a juicy angle to what is already shaping up to be one of 2026's most talked-about films.
