A new psychological thriller titled Honey, starring actor Naveen Chandra and directed by Karuna Kumar, officially began shooting today with a formal pooja ceremony. The film is being produced by Shekhar Master and Ravi Pilla under the Shekhar Studio banner. Director Karuna Kumar, known for films like Palasa 1978, Sridevi Soda Center, and the upcoming Matka, is bringing his signature realistic approach to this new project while also experimenting with bold storytelling elements. Naveen Chandra, who has built a reputation for choosing content-driven films, will be seen in a challenging and intense role that promises to showcase a new dimension of his acting.

The film’s genre is psychological thriller, and it features a cast that includes Divya Pillai, Divi, Raja Ravindra, music composer Kalyani Malik, and child artist Baby Jayani in key roles. Audiences will see me in a completely new light.”

Director Karuna Kumar shared insights into the film’s theme, stating, “There are many real-life references in the story of Honey. It explores the dark corners of human desire and the consequences of obsession. Naveen Chandra’s performance and the emotional depth of the narrative will make this film stand out. We are aiming to deliver a unique cinematic experience.”

Producers Shekhar Master and Ravi Pilla expressed their excitement about the project, saying, “The moment we heard the story from Karuna Kumar, we were deeply moved. Naveen Chandra and Divya Pillai’s characters are extremely impactful. Principal photography has begun today. We’ve built a special set in Kokapet and plan to wrap up the shoot in a single 43-day schedule, including some sequences in live locations.”
