Unni Mukundan Denies Assault Claims, Calls Them Baseless

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has responded strongly to recent allegations accusing him of physically and verbally assaulting his former associate, Vipin. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Mukundan issued a detailed statement, firmly denying the claims and calling the entire episode a baseless attempt to malign his character and career.

The controversy erupted after media reports suggested that a complaint had been filed in Kochi against Mukundan, following an alleged altercation in which Vipin, identified in some circles as a film publicist, reportedly sustained injuries and sought hospital treatment. These reports quickly spread across social media and news outlets, prompting the actor to break his silence.

In his statement, Mukundan asserted that no physical scuffle took place and clarified that Vipin was never his personal manager. “All allegations made by Vipin are completely baseless,” the actor stated, urging media houses to verify facts before drawing conclusions. He also mentioned that the meeting in question was captured by CCTV cameras, which he claimed would verify his innocence.

Going further, the actor leveled serious allegations against Vipin, accusing him of misusing Mukundan’s name to approach female actors with marriage proposals. “He contacted a female actress asking her to marry me, which led to a major confrontation between us,” Mukundan revealed. He recounted their initial meeting in 2018 during the planning of a home production film, when Vipin introduced himself as a publicist working with several Malayalam celebrities.

Mukundan claimed the relationship deteriorated when Vipin wasn’t given credit for the film, leading to a fallout. He added that since then, Vipin has been spreading defamatory gossip within the industry, damaging his reputation and mental well-being. “This person is extremely poisonous. I’ve always maintained professionalism with colleagues,” Mukundan wrote.

He also alleged a possible conspiracy behind the ongoing defamation, suggesting that individuals unhappy with his success might be aiding Vipin to sabotage his image. “I have built my career through sheer hard work and perseverance. I believe in truth, though I may face victimization and harassment,” he concluded.

As the situation unfolds, the Malayalam film industry and the public await clarity. For now, Unni Mukundan stands firm on his claim of innocence, backing his defense with video evidence and calling for the media to be responsible in reporting allegations that can irreparably affect personal and professional lives.
