Upcoming Telugu Movie Thammudu Postponed: Nithiin’s Comeback Film Eyes July 25

The release of Thammudu, starring Nithiin in the lead, has officially been postponed to July 25, 2025. Initially scheduled for July 4, the film’s makers strategically decided to shift the release date to avoid a direct clash with Kingdom, the highly anticipated Vijay Deverakonda-Gowtam Tinnanuri project. This move, according to industry insiders, is designed to give Thammudu its own breathing room at the box office.

Set against a tribal backdrop, Thammudu is a commercial action-adventure drama featuring dense forest visuals and culturally rich world-building. The film stars Nithiin in a crucial role that could potentially revive his box office standing, alongside Laya as his sister and Kantara actress Sapthami Gowda as the female lead.

What makes Thammudu stand out even before its release is its offbeat promotional campaign. Bucking the typical trend of launching songs or teasers first, the team is putting all their energy into a high-impact trailer, expected to drop within the next week. The aim is to fully immerse audiences into the world of Thammudu and build anticipation through rich visuals and storytelling, rather than piecemeal reveals. A motion poster titled Mood of Thammudu has already set the groundwork, offering a glimpse into the film’s gritty and intense setting.

Directed by Venu Sriram, known for hits like MCA and Vakeel Saab, the film is produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The soundtrack is being composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, who gained nationwide attention for his work in Kantara, raising expectations for a powerful musical score.

For Nithiin, Thammudu marks a make-or-break moment in his career. After a string of underwhelming box office performances post-pandemic, this film is being seen as a potential turning point. With a distinctive setting, a strong technical team, and a bold marketing approach, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure Thammudu makes a big impact when it hits theatres on July 25.
