Sonakshi Sinha, the lead actor in the upcoming film Nikita Roy, has expressed her excitement about sharing the same release date as her idol Kajol’s Maa. Despite the box office clash between the two films, Sonakshi views this as a positive moment rather than competition.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Sonakshi shared her admiration for Kajol, calling her one of her favorite actors. “I’m actually really excited because I love her so much as an actor. She’s amazing, and I absolutely love watching her on screen,” Sonakshi said. She also revealed that she had already watched the trailer for Maa and was thoroughly impressed. “It’s amazing, really, really cool. It’s definitely a film I’m looking forward to, and I hope she’s looking forward to watching my film too,” she added.

Sonakshi made it clear that the upcoming box office clash doesn’t faze her. Instead, she considers it an enjoyable experience. “It’s going to be a lot of fun. Honestly, I feel that even though both films are releasing on the same day, there’s space for everyone,” she explained. The actress also highlighted that box office clashes have become a common occurrence in the industry, and this rivalry is simply part of the game.

“Nikita Roy” and Maa are both set to hit theatres on June 27, 2025. Sonakshi, however, is thrilled about sharing the release date with Kajol, saying, “I actually feel really proud that our film is releasing alongside Kajol’s.
