Diljit Dosanjh Remains in Border 2 Amid FWICE Ban Revocation

Diljit Dosanjh, the popular actor known for his work in films like Sardaar Ji 3, continues to remain a part of the highly anticipated Border 2, despite facing a ban imposed by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). The ban came as a result of Dosanjh’s involvement with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, which sparked national outrage. However, after discussions with producer Bhushan Kumar, the ban on Dosanjh was lifted for Border 2, due to the significant progress already made in the film’s production.

The decision to allow Dosanjh to stay on the project was made after Bhushan Kumar made a special request to FWICE. In a series of meetings, Kumar explained that the film was nearly 85% complete, and removing Dosanjh at such a late stage would cause major production disruptions. The remaining portion of the film, including a song to be shot at the National Defence Academy (NDA), was the only part yet to be filmed with Dosanjh. Given the near-completion of the project, Kumar requested that the federation allow the actor to continue in his role.

Although FWICE has revoked the ban for Border 2, they have made it clear that their stance on Dosanjh remains unchanged. The federation has expressed that no further cooperation with him will be permitted on future projects. Producer Ashoke Pandit, an advisor to the committee, confirmed that Bhushan Kumar had also pledged in writing that he would not work with Diljit Dosanjh on any future films, ensuring that the ban would remain in place for upcoming productions.

The decision to allow Dosanjh to stay on Border 2 also took into consideration the potential financial loss that producers could incur if the actor was removed at this stage. The film features prominent actors such as Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, and the production house did not want to risk the film’s completion due to the ban. FWICE made the decision to support the producer in this instance, as the film does not include any Pakistani actors and focuses on themes of national integrity and the army.

The producers and FWICE have agreed that while Dosanjh remains in Border 2, the non-cooperation directive will continue for future collaborations with him. The film, set to release on January 23, 2026, will see Dosanjh playing a significant role, and fans are eager to see how this controversy affects its reception.
