Saiyaara Day 1 Box Office: Ahaan-Aneet Debut Hits ₹20 Cr
Mohit Suri’s much-anticipated romantic drama Saiyaara has taken the Indian box office by storm, delivering a smashing ₹20 crore on its opening day. The film stars newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles and marks a strong debut for both actors. Backed by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara has quickly become one of the biggest opening day earners for a debut-led film, outperforming releases featuring seasoned Bollywood stars.
Released nationwide, the film witnessed a robust Hindi occupancy rate of 49.90% on Friday, with a significant rise in footfalls during evening and night shows. Industry watchers were impressed by the response, noting that the opening day numbers have already surpassed Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par and Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force, which earned ₹10.7 crore and ₹12.25 crore respectively on their first days.
Fresh Pairing and Musical Brilliance Drive Buzz
The movie follows the emotional journey of an aspiring singer and a budding songwriter, a story that has clearly resonated with audiences. The chemistry between Ahaan Panday, nephew of Chunky Panday and cousin of Ananya Panday, and Aneet Padda, known for her role in Salaam Venky and Big Girls Don’t Cry, has been widely praised. Their earnest performances are being credited as a key reason for the film’s success.
The soundtrack has also played a pivotal role in building anticipation. Composed by a powerhouse lineup including Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdulla, Arslan Nizami, Mithoon, Vishal Mishra, Sachet-Parampara, and Rishabh Kant, the film’s music became popular even before release, boosting overall interest in the project.
Trade experts are highly optimistic about Saiyaara’s weekend performance. According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film is projected to achieve a ₹70–80 crore net collection by the end of the weekend, which would be an extraordinary benchmark for a debut-led production. If the current momentum continues, Saiyaara is likely to become one of the biggest surprise hits of the year and a dream debut for its lead pair.
