Singapore and Indian Companies Declare Holiday for Rajinikanth’s Coolie Release

As excitement builds for the release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie, several companies in both India and Singapore have announced holidays for workers on August 14, 2025, the film’s opening day. This trend highlights the immense anticipation surrounding the film, which has garnered record-breaking advance ticket sales.

In an interesting move, Farmer Constructions PTE Ltd, a company in Singapore, has declared a paid holiday for its Tamil employees to watch the film. The company is also offering first-day-first-show tickets and a $30 allowance for food and beverages as part of its workers' welfare and stress management program. This gesture has sparked widespread attention and approval online, particularly among Rajinikanth's fans in India.

Another Singapore-based firm, SB MART, announced that it would close between 7 am to 11:30 am on August 14 to allow its employees to enjoy the release. The company’s director, Krishan Prakash Nambiar, communicated that business would resume as usual after 11:30 am.

In Tamil Nadu, a Madurai-based company also declared a holiday on August 14 to allow employees to watch **Coolie**, calling it a celebration of the 50th year of Rajinism. The company also announced charitable acts such as providing food to orphanages and old-age homes in honor of the Superstar’s movie release.

Despite the overwhelming support, Coolie has sparked some concerns, especially due to its ‘A’ rating by the Censor Board, which raises questions about its suitability for family viewing, particularly for children. However, the film has already become the highest overseas procurement for a Tamil film, reflecting its massive appeal. Reports suggest that Coolie will be released in over 100 countries, adding to its international buzz.

Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, also stars Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan. The film’s August 14 release is set to clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2, making it one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year. Fans are eager to witness Rajinikanth’s return to the screen, with the film's first-day box office performance expected to set new records.
