Kaattaan Glimpse: Vijay Sethupathi Stuns With Fierce Role In Violent New Web Series

Vijay Sethupathi has once again captured attention with the intense first glimpse of Kaattaan, his upcoming JioHotstar web series. The video was revealed during the JioHotstar South Unbound event on December 9, instantly sparking curiosity among viewers. Although the official release date is yet to be confirmed, the series is expected to arrive soon and marks Sethupathi's major comeback to long-format streaming after Farzi. The glimpse opens with the actor in a lungi and shirt amid a bustling festival crowd. He casually tosses a stone, walks in holding a sickle, and in a chilling moment slashes a man's throat while delivering the line Shivettan sent me, setting a brutal tone for the series. With gritty visuals and rustic energy, the teaser hints at a storyline filled with crime, revenge, and mysterious motives.

JioHotstar captioned the video stating that every crime has a story and every story has a truth, indicating a layered narrative rather than a simple crime drama. Directed by M Manikandan, known for films like Kadaisi Vivasayi, Kaattaan brings him and Vijay Sethupathi together once again following earlier collaborations in Kadaisi Vivasayi and Aandavan Kattalai. The series also features Milind Soman in a key role, adding more weight to the cast. Sethupathi is also one of the producers of the project, suggesting a personal creative connection with the material. The show was originally titled Muthu Engira Kaatan before officially becoming Kaattaan. The actor, who began his television journey in 2006 with Penn, has since built an impressive body of work across genres and industries.

The glimpse has already created strong discussions across social media, with fans praising the raw performance and harsh tone of the teaser. Alongside Kaattaan, Vijay Sethupathi has multiple projects lined up including Train with Mysskin and Arasan co-starring Silambarasan TR and Vetri Maaran. His shift between mainstream cinema, OTT narratives and experimental characters highlights why he remains one of the most versatile actors in Indian entertainment today. With high expectations building, Kaattaan is gearing up to be a dark, gripping drama poised to attract thriller lovers and Vijay Sethupathi fans worldwide once streaming begins.
