Keanu Reeves to Lead Deadpool Director Tim Miller’s New Sci-Fi Thriller Shiver

Keanu Reeves is reportedly in negotiations to star in Shiver, an upcoming science fiction action film directed by Tim Miller and produced by Warner Bros. Known for his work on Deadpool and Terminator: Dark Fate, Miller brings his expertise in blending action with futuristic storytelling. The project is in its final acquisition stage at Warner Bros and has attracted notable producers such as Matthew Vaughn of Kingsman fame and Aaron Ryder, known for Dumb Money and All of You. The screenplay is written by Ian Shorr, who has previously worked on Infinite and Office Uprising. With this impressive creative lineup, Shiver is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated sci-fi thrillers in development.

The film promises a unique narrative that mixes intense survival drama with high-stakes science fiction. According to early reports, Shiver will follow a smuggler caught in a deadly double-cross during a mission in the Caribbean Sea. The story takes a darker turn when the protagonist, surrounded by mercenaries, corpses, and sharks, realizes he’s trapped in a recurring time loop, forcing him to relive his perilous ordeal until he finds a way to escape. The concept has been described as a creative fusion of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows, offering both adrenaline-fueled action and psychological depth. This blend of thrilling escapism and human struggle could make Shiver a standout addition to the genre.

For Keanu Reeves, Shiver represents another major step in his long-standing relationship with the science fiction genre, which began with films like The Matrix and continued through Johnny Mnemonic and Replicas. Recently seen in Good Fortune, Reeves is also part of the John Wick spinoff Ballerina alongside Ana de Armas and is developing BRZRKR for Netflix, a live-action adaptation of his comic book series. His collaboration with Tim Miller and producers Vaughn and Ryder suggests a project that combines visionary direction, strong character arcs, and innovative action design. While Warner Bros has yet to announce an official release date, Shiver is already generating excitement as one of the most promising sci-fi films on the horizon.
