The final trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day places Peter Parker’s emotional isolation at the centre of the story while promising a major escalation in action ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
The footage revisits the consequences of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Doctor Strange’s spell caused the world to forget Peter Parker. Peter is now living alone in New York and fighting crime full-time while watching former girlfriend MJ and best friend Ned continue their lives without remembering him.
Sony’s official synopsis says the pressure of living in a world that no longer knows Peter triggers a transformation he may not be able to control. Tom Holland has described the movie as a more grounded, emotional and vulnerable Spider-Man story focused on loneliness, community and asking others for help.
Hulk Showdown Drives the Trailer’s Biggest Action
The trailer’s most attention-grabbing sequence features Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner transforming into a furious Hulk and confronting Spider-Man.
Peter attempts to reach Banner, but Hulk takes control and attacks him, slamming the web-slinger into the ground. The footage suggests that the confrontation will be one of the film’s largest action set pieces, although the reason for Hulk’s violent behaviour has not been revealed.
Mark Ruffalo is officially listed among the cast, confirming that Hulk will play a role in Peter’s new adventure rather than appearing only as an unverified rumour or fan theory. Reuters also reported that Bruce Banner is among several established Marvel characters appearing in the film.
Cast Expands With Punisher, Scorpion and New Mysteries
Spider-Man: Brand New Day stars Tom Holland alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Jon Bernthal joins the film as Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, while Michael Mando returns as Scorpion.
Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman are also part of the official cast, but details about their characters remain limited. Sink’s undisclosed role has become one of the film’s biggest mysteries, with director Destin Daniel Cretton encouraging audiences not to investigate every theory before seeing the movie.
The story will reportedly explore an uneasy relationship between Spider-Man and the Punisher while introducing additional Marvel characters and threats. Sony’s synopsis also teases an enemy whom no one can see, indicating that the Hulk confrontation may not be Peter’s main battle.
