Nagarjuna Reveals ANR’s Final Wish Fulfilled During Manam, Dubbing His Own Voice

Manam holds a special place for the Akkineni family, as it brought together three generations of actors from the family on screen. Recently, Nagarjuna opened up about a deeply personal moment during the making of the film, revealing how he fulfilled ANR’s final wish.

During the inaugural episode of Jagapathi Babu’s new talk show, “Jayammu Nischayammura With Jagapathi”, Nagarjuna shared that ANR had one specific request during his final days he insisted on dubbing his own voice for Manam, even though his health was deteriorating. Nagarjuna explained, Dad warned me that he wouldn’t let anyone dub his voice. Eventually, he finished dubbing it himself from the ICU bed, which was arranged at our home.

He further reflected on the emotional connection the film had for the family. Manam always remains a special film for us. Our entire family was seen in a single frame. We realized it was going to be Dad’s final film as he was diagnosed with cancer at that time. Though I never had any pressure in my life, I had sleepless nights thinking about Manam while working on it. After watching it, he liked the film and appreciated it, Nagarjuna shared. On the work front, Nagarjuna was recently seen playing the antagonist in the film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kangaraj. The action thriller also starred Rajinikanth in the lead role, marking another significant project for the actor.
