Rashmika Mandanna and Dheekshith Shetty’s romantic drama The Girlfriend continues to maintain steady momentum at the box office as it enters Day 6. Released on November 7, the film has now surpassed the Rs 10 crore mark in India, showing strong weekday resilience. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 1.25 crore on its sixth day, taking its total domestic net to Rs 10.10 crore. The Telugu version recorded around 18.85 percent overall occupancy on Wednesday, with consistent turnout across morning, afternoon, evening, and night shows. If the film holds its pace over the upcoming weekend, it is on track to touch or possibly cross the Rs 20 crore milestone, which fans and industry watchers are eagerly anticipating.
The Girlfriend stars Rashmika Mandanna in a heartfelt and emotionally layered role, portraying a young woman navigating love, compatibility, insecurities and personal transformation during her college years. Dheekshith Shetty, Anu Emmanuel, Rohini, Koushik Mahata, and Rao Ramesh play key supporting roles. Written and directed by Rahul Ravindran, the film has been made on a reported budget of Rs 42 crore, meaning it needs to earn at least Rs 22 crore to recover its production cost. So far, the steady collections and positive reviews indicate promising movement in that direction. The film’s language versatility has also helped its reach, with releases in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam contributing to consistent footfall. Running for 2 hours and 18 minutes, The Girlfriend continues to attract young audiences interested in emotional narratives, relationship dynamics, and character-driven storytelling. With the crucial weekend approaching, box office trends will determine whether the film can achieve its next big target and continue its successful run in theatres.
