Chadwick Boseman to Receive Posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Hollywood is set to honor the late Chadwick Boseman with a posthumous star on the iconic Walk of Fame on November 20, 2025. Best known for his role as T’Challa/Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Boseman will receive the 2,828th star at 6904 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the Hollywood Experience gift shop. The star recognizes his immense contribution to motion pictures and his lasting impact on fans and the film industry worldwide.

The ceremony will be attended by Boseman’s widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, who will accept the honor on his behalf. Prominent figures such as Viola Davis, who co-starred with Boseman in his final film ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,’ and director Ryan Coogler, famed for helming ‘Black Panther,’ are expected to address the event. Steve Nissen, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, will host the ceremony, which will also be livestreamed on walkoffame.com.

Chadwick Boseman passed away on August 28, 2020, at the age of 43 after battling colon cancer. His career began with portrayals of legendary figures like football star Floyd Little in 'The Express: The Ernie Davis Story' (2008) and baseball icon Jackie Robinson in '42' (2013). Other notable films include 'Get On Up' (2014), 'Marshall' (2017), and posthumously released films like '21 Bridges' (2020), 'Da 5 Bloods' (2020), and 'Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom' (2020).

Boseman’s portrayal of Black Panther in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016), followed by the solo film ‘Black Panther’ (2018), and appearances in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame' solidified him as a global icon. His final superhero appearance in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (2022) used archival footage to honor his legacy. This Walk of Fame star cements his enduring influence on cinema and ensures that generations will continue to celebrate his remarkable contributions both on and off screen.
