Awarapan 2 Teaser Revives Emraan Hashmi’s Shivam Pandit
Emraan Hashmi is back as Shivam Pandit in the teaser of Awarapan 2, bringing the brooding intensity of the 2007 cult film into a darker sequel built around vengeance, romance and heartbreak. The teaser, released on Monday, June 29, 2026, marks 19 years since Awarapan first reached theatres and gives fans a first look at the expanded world of the sequel. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt, the film also features Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in prominent roles.
The teaser opens with Shivam revisiting painful memories from his past before moving into action-heavy visuals that show him as a physically transformed street fighter. The footage presents a world shaped by ganglords, betrayal and emotional conflict, while still holding on to the mood that made the original film memorable. Shabana Azmi appears as Nafisa, a powerful antagonist, while Disha Patani’s character is introduced through a quiet visual of her playing the violin. Her role has not been fully revealed, but the teaser suggests that she will be central to the emotional arc of the film.

Awarapan 2 appears to be expanding the story beyond nostalgia. The sequel brings back Shivam’s pain and restlessness while introducing new characters who could shape his next battle. Producer Vishesh Bhatt earlier said that the role required Azmi’s presence and power, underlining the importance of the character in the sequel’s darker world.

Awarapan 2 is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Friday, August 14, 2026. The film’s script has been written by Bilal Siddiqui, while shooting schedules in Bangkok and Rajasthan were completed under tight security to create a rugged and immersive setting. The makers are also planning a month-long promotional campaign with music drops and further reveals before the release.
Music is expected to be one of the film’s biggest attractions. Mithoon and Sayeed Quadri are returning to rework fan favourites such as Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta, while also creating new songs for the sequel. For fans of the original, the soundtrack remains a major part of Awarapan’s identity.
