Reports doing the rounds in film circles suggest that Rajinikanth’s much-awaited Jailer 2 is being planned for an October 15 release, while Chiranjeevi’s fantasy adventure Vishwambhara may arrive a day later on October 16. Though there is no official confirmation from either team yet, the possibility of these two big-ticket films releasing back-to-back has already triggered huge discussions among fans and trade circles.
Megastar vs Superstar again
The potential clash has become a hot topic because Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth previously faced each other at the box office in 2023. Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and Rajinikanth’s Jailer released around the same period, but the outcome was completely one-sided. Jailer went on to become a massive blockbuster and gave Rajinikanth one of the biggest successes of his career, while Bhola Shankar failed to impress audiences and ended up as a commercial disappointment.
This time, however, the battle could be more interesting.
