Netflix has announced that Pyaar Prema Kalyanam will premiere on August 21, 2026. The streaming platform also released the film’s first glimpse, introducing its unconventional marriage premise and director Elan in his first role as a lead actor. The film will stream in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Best known for directing Pyaar Prema Kaadhal and Star, Elan is also directing the new romantic family comedy. His transition from filmmaker to actor has become one of the project’s main talking points, while the glimpse suggests that the film will retain his familiar combination of humour, romance and contemporary relationship conflicts.

Pyaar Prema Kalyanam Story Challenges Marriage Traditions

The story follows Pavi, a popular social media influencer played by Saanve Megghana. After getting married, she refuses to leave her family home and move into her husband’s household. Instead, her husband moves into her home, reversing a commonly followed post-marriage arrangement.
