The much-awaited Bollywood superhero sequel Krrish 4 has reportedly been pushed due to unresolved budget discussions between actor-director Hrithik Roshan and producer Aditya Chopra. According to trade reports, the project, which was initially expected to go on floors in 2026, has now been placed on hold as both sides continue negotiations over production costs. The delay has come as a surprise to fans of the franchise, which has enjoyed consistent popularity since its inception.

Sources indicate that the core issue revolves around the scale and budget of the film. Hrithik Roshan, who is set to make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, is said to have envisioned the project on a massive scale, with a proposed budget close to Rs 500 crore. However, producer Aditya Chopra, who heads Yash Raj Films, has reportedly suggested a significantly lower cap of around Rs 350 crore to maintain financial sustainability. Despite multiple rounds of discussions, the two sides have not been able to arrive at a mutually acceptable figure.

The disagreement has effectively paused the collaboration under the Yash Raj Films banner, pushing Krrish 4 beyond its original production timeline. Trade analysts suggest that the studio has recently been reassessing budgets across several projects, focusing on cost control amid changing market dynamics. This cautious approach appears to have influenced the decision to hold firm on budget limits for the superhero film, despite its franchise value.

With the project currently on the backburner, filming is unlikely to begin in 2026 as previously anticipated. No revised production dates have been finalised so far. Reports also suggest that Hrithik Roshan is re-evaluating the script based on recent feedback and may explore alternate production models or creative adjustments to align with budget expectations. At the same time, there is speculation that he could consider collaborating with other major studios that may be more open to funding the film at the desired scale.

While discussions around Krrish 4 continue, Hrithik Roshan is expected to move ahead with another acting project. The actor has reportedly reviewed multiple scripts and is close to finalising his next film, with an official announcement expected soon. This development comes after his previous release War 2 underperformed at the box office, making his upcoming choices particularly significant.
