Salman Khan Wraps Major Action Scenes for War Drama Battle of Galwan
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is all set to take on a powerful new role in Battle of Galwan, one of the most anticipated films of 2026. The war drama, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, features Salman in a rugged, action-driven avatar as Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu a character inspired by the real-life heroism depicted in India’s Most Fearless 3 by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Salman’s recent shirtless photos, showing off his fitness transformation for the role, went viral across social media, sparking excitement among fans awaiting his next big performance.
The film began shooting in September across the scenic and challenging terrains of Ladakh, with major action sequences already completed. Sources reveal that Salman has performed several physically demanding scenes without body doubles, showcasing his dedication to realism and intensity. The production is expected to wrap up by December, after which director Apoorva Lakhia will move into post-production. Despite rumours about Amitabh Bachchan appearing in a cameo, Lakhia has clarified that no such plans exist. The movie also stars Chitrangda Singh in a significant role, adding emotional depth to the storyline that pays tribute to the courage and sacrifice of India’s soldiers.
The makers of Battle of Galwan are reportedly eyeing a mid-2026 release, most likely in June, though July or August are also being considered based on the post-production schedule. Fans are hopeful for a teaser or official announcement around Salman Khan’s 60th birthday on December 27th, though no confirmation has been made yet. The combination of Salman’s commanding screen presence, Apoorva Lakhia’s direction, and the patriotic subject matter has positioned Battle of Galwan as one of the most awaited Indian films of the coming year. With its gripping storyline, intense visuals, and emotional undertones, the movie promises to deliver both action and sentiment — a tribute to real-life bravery on the nation’s toughest frontlines.
