Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat, celebrated for his commanding villain roles across Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and other Indian film industries, died in Mumbai on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. He was 74. His manager, Siddharth Tiwari, said the actor had been hospitalised after cancer returned and that his health worsened following a sudden fall in his platelet count. Rawat died between approximately 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

The news left film fans mourning an actor whose screen presence could turn even a supporting antagonist into one of a movie’s most memorable characters. Reports that he died of cardiac arrest are not supported by the manager’s account, which identified a cancer relapse as the cause.
