Nani has joined Nithiin’s upcoming Telugu film Alias Rukmini as its presenter, with the makers announcing a worldwide theatrical release on December 4, 2026. The announcement brings a release timeline to the project following its intriguing title glimpse earlier this year.
The team has also promised to reveal more about Rukmini on October 13. With the character’s identity central to the promotional material, the next update could offer a clearer picture of the story and its relationships.
Nani Backs Alias Rukmini Ahead of December Release
While sharing the announcement, Nani described Alias Rukmini as the “most beautiful Telugu film of the year,” expressing his enthusiasm for the project. His involvement as presenter adds another prominent name to the film’s promotional campaign.
Deepthi Ganta produces the film under Unanimous Productions. Murali Kanth Devasoth has written and directed it, with the production banner sharing the release date alongside a cryptic message about Krishna’s love story. The announcement establishes December 4 as the film’s scheduled theatrical launch, while keeping much of the narrative under wraps.
Title Glimpse Introduces Krishna and Rukmini
Released in August, the title glimpse introduced the film through a playful conversation between Nani and director Murali. The director initially explains that the story revolves around Krishna, before the visuals reveal Nithiin asleep in a chair.
Books with sensual themes appear prominently in the sequence. Nani notices that they carry the name Rukmini and asks the director about the person behind them.
Nithiin then wakes up and reveals that Rukmini is his wife. The exchange creates a humorous twist, introducing a relationship that appears important to the film without explaining the complete story. The glimpse ends with Nani expressing interest in the narrative and asking when filming can begin.
First Shooting Schedule Completed in September
According to the supplied report, Alias Rukmini completed its first shooting schedule in September. The 10-day schedule covered key scenes featuring Nithiin, Sai Kumar, Harsha Vardhan and other cast members.
Nithiin had also expressed confidence in the project while sharing the title glimpse, describing the story as one intended to connect emotionally with audiences. Although the early promotional material offers a quirky introduction, further updates are expected to clarify the film’s tone, supporting characters and central conflict.
Technical Team and October 13 Update
The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Jomon T John and music composer Vijai Bulganin. Srujana Adusumilli handles editing, while Rekha Boggarrapu oversees costumes. Ramana Madhavaram serves as co-director.
The makers’ promised October 13 update now becomes the next point of interest for viewers following Alias Rukmini. It is expected to reveal more about Rukmini, whose name and connection to Nithiin’s character shaped the title glimpse. With Nani presenting the film and a December 4 release announced, the team is moving towards the next stage of promotions for the Telugu project.
