Gandheevadhari Arjuna Review : Poor, Flat, and Predictable

Gandheevadhari Arjuna Review : Poor, Flat, and Predictable
  • 26 Aug 2023 08:30 AM

Varun Tej has the habit of trying out new scripts and one such new attempt of his is Gandheevadhari Arjuna which released in theaters today - 25 August. Let us see what the film has to offer.

Story: Aditya(Nassar) is a central minister and he now has a life threat after warning to take down a multi-million company that is involved in fraudulent activities. The company tries to see the end of him. This is when special agent, Varun comes to the fray and he is handed the responsibility of saving the minister. The rest of the story revolves around this action narrative.

How did the actors perform?

Varun is good in the role of a special agent. He has the right looks for a role like this. Sakshi Vaidya is alright as his love interest. Nassar is a class act and he delivers what is expected of him.

What about the technical finesse?

The director Praveen Sattaru picks a dated subject that has nothing new to offer. The music is decent. The visuals look rich and lavish thanks to some good work from the man behind the lens. The making values are of very good quality.

Analysis:

Praveen Sattaru is regarded as one of the technically slick filmmakers in Telugu cinema. He delivers on the technical front but stutters badly in filmmaking and narration side. His story is flat and doesn't have any impetus.

Right from the outset, the premise is simple - a corporate company tries to kill a minister and his security personnel is designated with the job of saving him. This is a familiar plot.

Sadly for the audience, Praveen doesn't put any effort in telling his story in an endge of the seat thriller vibe. He wasted the very little premise the film has with his monotonous narration that is one dimensional and doesn't excite at any bit.

For action thrillers to click, they should have a pacy narration and enough twists and turns to keep the audience hooked. None of this can be attributed to this Varun Tej starrer.

On top of the predictable narration, the ending portion is again way too thin. It doesn't have any X factor to end the film on a high. It is lethargic actioner that fails on almost every count.

Verdict: Gandeevadhari Arjuna is a poorly told story that has no impetus. Varun's efforts go in vain with this lackluster screenplay. Praveen needs to up his game immediately. The film fails on all counts.
