Naveen Polishetty is the finest comical lead actor in Telugu cinema as of now and the same was instated with Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya and Jathi Ratnalu. His new film. Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty release today and here's what we have ot say after watching the same.
Story:
Anushka is a fiercely feminine lady living in London and wants to be single forever. She works as a chef. Naveen Polishetty is a stand up comedian from Hyderabad, and he wants to be in a committed relationship. Then comes the crazy track when Anushka asks Naveen for his sperm so that she can become pregnant without having to be in a relationship.
How did the actors perform?
The film has a very able cast in Naveen Polishetty and Anushka. Naveen is at his usual best in the comical part and he evokes great fun with his lively performance. He is ably supported by Anushka, who emoted well in her complex role.
What about the technical finesse?
The director Mahesh Babu P does a fine job at presenting the comedy track well. But extracting the drama and romance track which were equally important weren't done with effectiveness by the director. The music and visuals have rich essence.
Analysis:
Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is a comedy entertainer from the outset but it also does have an emotional core that involves the relationship between the lead pair. While the actual depth of the relationship might be dull, the comedy quotient works perfectly.
After a dull first 20 minutes, the film picks up the momentum as Naveen enters and instantly light up the whole mood. He is free-flowing and charming on screen. His comedy timing is impeccable. He carries the Jathi Ratalu vibe comedy with this comedy entertainer again.
The film has a decent first half with Naveen's comedy in flow despite the moderate start. Then comes the part where the emotional core is placed and this is touchy.
The romantic track between Naveen and Anushka is a complete mismatch and this acts against the cause. We can't see this facet of them working out on screen.
The latter half has a few dull moments as the drama factor goes for a toss and doesn't have the desired effectiveness.
Verdict: Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is a middling comed caper that has a few bright moments. It could be watched once for Naveen's brilliance. But keep your expectations in check.
