Mammootty Under Treatment for Minor Health Issue
Malayalam film legend Mammootty is currently undergoing treatment for a minor health complication, confirmed Kerala Rajya Sabha MP and close friend John Brittas. Dismissing recent speculation surrounding the veteran actor’s health, Brittas stated that while Mammootty is indeed under medical care, there is no cause for serious concern.
Speaking in an interview with Reporter TV, Brittas assured fans that Mammootty is recovering well and even spoke to him recently. “He is okay. Mammootty is suffering from a minor health complication and is receiving treatment. We had a phone conversation, and he sounded fine,” Brittas said. He also reflected on their decades-long friendship, noting that recent times have seen the two discuss more personal matters than before.
The actor’s team has also denied rumours of cancer, which had been circulating earlier this year. They emphasized that the reports are baseless and that Mammootty will be resuming work soon. The 72-year-old actor had been shooting for Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming film featuring Mohanlal before taking a brief break due to his health.
Though no official statement has been issued by the production team, industry sources say Mammootty is expected to return to the film sets shortly. His most recent appearance was in the Malayalam thriller "Bazooka", which received praise from fans and critics alike. With confirmation from trusted sources that the actor’s condition is not serious, fans can look forward to seeing Mammootty back on screen soon.
