Jolly LLB 3 : Latest Hindi Movie Review

Plot

The story revolves around the suicide of a farmer and the legal battle his wife Janki (Seema Biswas) takes up against industrialist Haribhai Khetan (Gajraj Rao). His mega project threatens to displace entire villages. The case pits both Jollies – Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi – against systemic corruption, money, and power. Inspired by real-life land acquisition protests, the film mixes satire, drama, and courtroom banter to question morality versus greed.

Overview

Director Subhash Kapoor balances satire with hard-hitting drama. Unlike the lighter tone suggested by the trailer, the film is gritty, emotional, and laced with biting humor. The narrative critiques power structures, capitalism, and corruption while keeping the franchise’s trademark wit intact.

Performances

  • Akshay Kumar: Delivers sharp one-liners and strong dramatic range.
  • Arshad Warsi: Brings understated humor and emotional depth.
  • Seema Biswas: Haunting as the grieving widow.
  • Gajraj Rao: Effective but limited by the script.
  • Saurabh Shukla: Steals the show as Judge Tripathi with layered sarcasm, warmth, and charm.

Technical Aspects

  • Direction: Subhash Kapoor keeps the franchise’s voice intact, ensuring satire and emotions flow seamlessly.
  • Cinematography: Balanced visuals with courtroom intensity.
  • Production Design: Realistic sets add to authenticity.

Music

Vibrant in parts, but one intense song feels unnecessarily stretched. Background score works well to highlight courtroom drama and emotions.

Editing

Crisp for most parts, though a few scenes – including an odd camel racing sequence – drag unnecessarily.

Positives

  • Strong performances by Akshay, Arshad, and especially Saurabh Shukla.
  • Sharp dialogues with a mix of humor and seriousness.
  • Socially relevant theme rooted in reality.
  • Entertaining courtroom banter and emotional depth.

Negatives

  • Gajraj Rao’s character feels underwritten.
  • Some unnecessary sequences that break momentum.
  • Occasional anti-capitalist tone feels heavy-handed.

Analysis

Jolly LLB 3 is an engaging courtroom drama that combines satire, social critique, and humor. While not flawless, it stays true to the spirit of the franchise, asking the right questions about morality, greed, and justice. The chemistry between Akshay and Arshad works beautifully, but Saurabh Shukla is the undeniable highlight.

Bottomline: Entertaining Courtroom

Rating: 4/5
