Plot:
Nooru Sami follows Selvi, a widowed mother who raises her two sons, Bhaskar and Vivek, after losing her husband. As the boys grow up, ego and emotional distance create tension between them. Selvi, who has spent years living only for her children, casually expresses her wish to remarry, shocking both sons. What begins as resistance slowly turns into understanding as they realise that their mother also deserves companionship, dignity and happiness. The film then moves into the family and social opposition that follows her decision.

Director Sasi reunites with Vijay Antony after Pichaikkaran, but Nooru Sami is a very different film in tone and theme. The film tries to speak about widow remarriage, loneliness and social judgment in a conservative setting. Swasika carries the film with a sincere and controlled performance as Selvi. Vijay Antony appears in a brief but important role and keeps his performance subtle, which suits the tone of the character. Ajay Dhishan gets an emotionally demanding part and shows promise, but some key expressions needed more depth. Sakthi and the supporting cast serve the story, though not every character gets strong writing.

Technical Aspects:
The film has a grounded visual style that suits its village and family-drama backdrop. The camera work is simple and does not distract from the emotional subject. However, the presentation feels uneven because the film keeps shifting between soft family drama and loud social confrontation. Better staging and sharper writing could have made the emotional conflict stronger.

Music:
The music supports the emotional tone in a few scenes, but it does not become a major strength of the film. The background score works better in family moments than in the more dramatic portions. A stronger musical layer could have lifted the mother-son emotion further.

Editing:
The editing is one of the weaker areas. The film takes detours that dilute the main conflict. Some scenes feel stretched, while a few important emotional transitions feel rushed. A tighter cut would have helped the film stay focused on Selvi’s remarriage journey.

The problem is in the execution. The film starts with emotional promise but struggles to maintain its focus. The first half deals with the sons trying to process their mother’s wish, while the second half moves into social opposition from relatives and villagers. This structure could have worked well, but the writing does not build enough emotional continuity between the two halves.

The best portions are the quieter conversations within the family. Whenever the film allows Selvi’s pain and desire for companionship to breathe, Nooru Sami feels sincere. But when it shifts into loud confrontations and predictable drama, the impact drops. The central conflict is strong, but the film keeps moving away from it instead of exploring it with more honesty and depth.
