Manthena Surya Narayana Raju, popularly called Soori, dreams of becoming a film hero. Instead of depending on hard work, he places his faith in beliefs, shortcuts and a mysterious book preserved by his family.

According to the book, drawing a particular pattern correctly can bring the celestial beauties Ramba, Oorvashi and Menaka from heaven to Earth. Soori spends years trying to summon them, hoping they will help fulfil his ambitions and desires.

When the three women finally appear, their arrival does not transform his life in the way he expects. Instead, they create confusion and chaos around him. How Soori handles the unexpected consequences and whether he achieves his dream form the remainder of the story.

Overview

After appearing in several serious films, Allari Naresh returns to the comedy genre with Ramba Oorvashi Menaka. The fantasy entertainer uses a familiar Telugu cinema concept involving celestial women descending to Earth and creating chaos in the life of an ordinary man.

The premise offers considerable scope for situational comedy and fantasy-driven entertainment. However, predictable writing, dated ideas and an uneven second half prevent the film from becoming the lively comedy it intends to be.

Allari Naresh delivers a sincere performance and remains comfortable in a genre that has produced several memorable roles for him. His expressions and comic timing occasionally lift individual scenes, but the character lacks the depth and sharp writing required to challenge his abilities.

Surbhi plays the principal female lead but receives limited narrative importance. Her character is not developed sufficiently to make a lasting impact on the story.

Vishnu Priya, Raashi Singh and Prisha Singh portray Ramba, Oorvashi and Menaka. Despite being central to the film’s premise, their characters are not used effectively and receive little meaningful development.

Vennela Kishore appears as Indra, while Ajay plays Yama. Both actors are adequate within the limited material provided to them. Naresh and Srinivas Reddy appear in extended roles, but the screenplay does not make the best use of their comic abilities. The remaining performers are satisfactory in smaller parts.

Director Chandramohan Chintada begins with a commercially appealing fantasy-comedy idea but struggles to give it a contemporary treatment. The screenplay relies heavily on predictable situations and familiar comic patterns.

The cinematography is satisfactory and supports the colourful fantasy setting. The production design is appropriate, while the production values provided by Hasya Movies and Annapurna Studios are visible on screen.

The film runs for two hours and 30 minutes, which feels lengthy because several portions fail to advance either the story or its humour. A tighter screenplay could have improved the pace considerably.

Chaitan Bharadwaj’s music does not leave a strong impression. The songs fail to add energy to the proceedings, while the background score offers limited support to the fantasy and comedy portions.

A movie built around celestial characters and a magical premise required a more distinctive musical identity. Unfortunately, neither the songs nor the score reaches that level.

Editor Chota K. Prasad maintains reasonable continuity, but the overall pacing remains uneven because of the repetitive screenplay. The first half contains a few entertaining moments, while the second half loses direction and becomes tiring.

Removing some forced comedy scenes, repetitive references and underdeveloped emotional portions could have produced a more focused entertainer.

Telugu cinema has successfully explored stories involving humans interacting with gods, Yamalokam and celestial women. Such concepts have produced memorable entertainers featuring stars from N.T. Rama Rao and Chiranjeevi to Jr. NTR. Therefore, the familiar premise is not the film’s main problem.

The weakness lies in its treatment. Ramba Oorvashi Menaka rarely updates its fantasy concept for contemporary audiences. Many comic ideas feel recycled, leaving viewers with the impression that they have encountered similar situations before.

The screenplay also depends excessively on social-media memes and pop-culture references. Familiar viral dialogues may create an immediate reaction, but they cannot replace original situational humour or well-developed characters. Audiences already encounter these references online, so their inclusion offers little freshness inside a feature film.

A few comedy scenes work during the first half, largely because of Allari Naresh and the supporting performers. The film loses momentum after the interval as the narrative becomes increasingly directionless. The mother sentiment feels forced, while the emotional scenes do not create the intended impact.

The celestial characters should have been the movie’s greatest strength, but they remain underwritten. Ultimately, Ramba Oorvashi Menaka has a potentially entertaining premise but delivers little that feels new, clever or consistently funny.
