Cedar Hill, TX – Cedar Hill Independent School District has announced Dr. Maria Gamell as the sole finalist for the position of superintendent following a comprehensive selection process. The announcement was made during a board meeting on Thursday, highlighting Gamell’s extensive experience and vision for educational leadership.
With 24 years of service in the field of education, Dr. Gamell most recently held the position of Chief Human Resources Officer for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD in Tarrant County. Throughout her career, she has served in various roles including campus principal and district-level administrator. Known for her focus on student achievement, staff development, and strong community partnerships, she has garnered praise for her leadership approach and inclusive philosophy.
Pending the mandatory 21-day waiting period before the board can officially appoint her, Dr. Gamell expressed her enthusiasm and commitment to her new role. “I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to serve the Cedar Hill community,” said Gamell. “My goal is to ensure every student receives a meaningful school experience focused on their success, talents, and passions. I look forward to working collaboratively with educators, families, and students to uphold district pride and deliver academic excellence.”
