A fatal pedestrian crash has claimed the life of a 59-year-old woman in Taylor, Texas, marking the city’s first deadly traffic incident of 2025. The tragic collision occurred on June 5 around 4:03 p.m. in the 3700 block of North Main Street. According to a preliminary report by the Taylor Police Department, a black 2013 Subaru driven by 22-year-old Brynn Trovinger of Jarrell failed to yield the right of way while entering the intersection and struck Ramona Pavlas of Taylor, who was walking in the crosswalk at the time.
Victim Identified, Investigation Underway
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, but Pavlas was pronounced dead on-site due to the severity of her injuries. Authorities have confirmed she was lawfully crossing in the designated pedestrian area when the collision occurred. Trovinger remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Taylor police have not yet confirmed whether any charges will be filed, noting that the investigation is still active and ongoing. As of now, no further details about contributing factors, such as speed or impairment, have been released.
