SeaWorld San Diego has officially brought back its iconic Journey to Atlantis water coaster with an exciting new storyline. Originally opening in 2004 as the first water coaster in San Diego, Journey to Atlantis now offers an enhanced experience, blending thrilling rides with immersive storytelling.

The attraction follows the S.E.A. (Science. Exploration. Adventure.) crew as they explore the mysterious underwater world of Atlantis in Mission Bay. The revitalized journey features three main areas: Discovery, Descent, and Escape.

In Discovery, guests will dive into the S.E.A. Collective’s research, learning about their investigation into Atlantis. Descent takes visitors on a tour of the mythical city, where they will come face-to-face with the Kraken, a giant sea monster, brought to life with projections, lighting, and impressive water effects.

The ride culminates in Escape, where riders experience a vertical lift before taking a thrilling plunge into a splash pool, providing an exhilarating end to the adventure.
