India concluded its participation in the Asian U19 & U22 Boxing Championships 2025 with an outstanding performance, securing a total of 27 medals across both age groups at the tournament held in Bangkok. The competition saw U19 boxers finish in second place, while U22 boxers secured fourth place, proving the strength and depth of India's young boxing talent.
The U19 team had a strong showing, collecting a total of 14 medals, which included three golds, seven silvers, and four bronzes. Despite having the best medal count in the tournament, India finished second behind Uzbekistan, who claimed seven gold medals. Nisha (women's 54kg), Muskan (women's 57kg), and Rahul (men's 75kg) were the gold medalists in the U19 category, showcasing exceptional skill and determination in their respective events.
In the U22 category, Ritika led the way for India, clinching the gold in the women’s 80 kg category, where she defeated Kazakhstan's Assel Toktassyn. Her victory was the highlight for India in the U22 group, which finished with a total of one gold, four silvers, and eight bronzes. Among the U22 silver medalists were Yatri (women's 57kg), Priya (women’s 60kg), Neeraj (men’s 75kg), and Ishan (men's 90kg), all delivering commendable performances despite stiff competition.
Other notable medalists from the U22 team included Bhawna (women's 48kg), Parthavi (women's 65kg), Pranjal (women's 70kg), Shruti (women's 75kg), Harsh (men's 60kg), Ankush (men's 80kg), Rocky (men’s 85kg), and Mayur (men’s 90kg), each earning a bronze for India.
Earlier in the year, the U-15 and U-17 teams also made a strong showing at the Asian Championships, securing a total of 43 medals, with the U-15 team bringing home 11 golds, marking a record for India in the competition.
India’s overall performance at the Asian U19 & U22 Boxing Championships 2025 highlights the nation's growing presence in international boxing and its continued commitment to developing young talent.
