A 27-year-old postgraduate medical student was found dead inside a hotel room in Hyderabad’s Miyapur area, prompting police to register a murder case and launch an investigation. Police are also searching for a man who was reportedly with her at the hotel.
The deceased has been identified as K Srijana, a resident of Sangareddy. She was pursuing her first-year postgraduate course in Paediatrics at a medical college in Hanamkonda.
According to reports, Srijana had known Ravi Kumar through Instagram for around seven years. Reports also state that she had previously given him a gold chain and that he later contacted her, saying he would return it.
Srijana Went Missing After Visiting Miyapur Hotel
On September 30, Srijana reportedly went to a hotel in Miyapur after Ravi Kumar asked her to meet him there. She did not return home afterward, and her phone was reportedly switched off.
Concerned by her absence, her friends contacted her family after they were unable to reach her. Her father subsequently approached the police and filed a missing-person complaint.
Police reportedly traced Srijana’s mobile phone location to a hotel in Miyapur. When officers reached the hotel and opened the room, they found her dead inside.
Police Search for Man Who Was With Her
Police have registered a murder case based on the complaint and are investigating the circumstances surrounding Srijana’s death. Ravi Kumar, who was reportedly with her at the hotel, is currently missing, and police are searching for him.
Investigators are examining CCTV footage and other available evidence to establish the sequence of events. The exact cause and manner of Srijana’s death will be determined following the post-mortem examination.
