Sharmila Alleges Jagan, KCR Ran Joint Phone Tapping Operation

Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila has stirred up a political firestorm with explosive allegations against her brother, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, and former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). In a press meet held earlier today, Sharmila accused the two former CMs of jointly running a covert phone tapping operation one that she claims targeted her, her husband, and other family members.

These startling allegations come amid a deepening feud between the politically prominent YS siblings, largely fueled by a long-standing property dispute. However, Sharmila's statements today suggest that the rift has grown far beyond family matters and now veers into the territory of political espionage.

“I firmly believe my phone was tapped under the previous regimes of both Andhra and Telangana. It was either a secret pact or a shared interest between KCR and Jagan,” Sharmila said during the media briefing. She went a step further, alleging that YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy personally visited her residence and played a recording of her private conversation—an act she claims serves as proof of unauthorized surveillance.

Though Sharmila noted that Subba Reddy may now deny this under pressure from Jagan, she maintained that the evidence was undeniable and linked to a broader political conspiracy. Her statements have added fuel to the ongoing discussion around the BRS government’s alleged phone surveillance activities targeting politicians, journalists, and celebrities in Telangana.

The implications of this claim are significant, particularly with the issue of illegal phone tapping gaining national attention. The accusation of a joint operation between two high-profile former CMs, especially when one is her own brother, raises questions about abuse of power, privacy violations, and inter-state political alliances for personal gain.

With these allegations now in the public domain, political analysts expect further investigation and likely legal scrutiny. For now, the issue adds yet another layer of complexity to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s volatile political landscape, while also straining an already fractured relationship between two of the most prominent figures in the YSR family.
