Meta AWA Training 2026: Free Data Centre Job Training for Skilled Trades Careers

Meta’s America’s Workforce Academy, also called AWA, is a free training programme created to prepare workers for skilled trades jobs connected to data centre construction. As artificial intelligence grows, companies need workers who can build, wire, cool and maintain large data centres.

What Students Will Learn ?

The five-week programme focuses on practical skills used at construction sites. Students may receive training in electrical work, HVAC systems, welding, plumbing and fibre optic technology. These are important trades because data centres need strong power systems, cooling, piping and network connections before they can support AI tools.

Certificates and Job Pathway

After completing the course, students may receive recognised certificates, including NCCER-related certification and an America’s Workforce Certificate. Meta says graduates will be connected with contractors working on active data centre construction projects. This gives students more than training; it gives them a clearer route toward employment.

Where AWA Will Start ?

The pilot programme is expected to begin in Louisiana, Texas, Ohio and Indiana. These states are important because Meta has data centre projects or planned infrastructure growth there. Louisiana is especially important because of Meta’s large data centre project in Richland Parish.

Why This Matters ?

AWA shows that AI jobs are not only for software engineers. The AI boom also needs electricians, HVAC workers, welders, plumbers, fibre technicians and construction crews. For job seekers looking for free skilled trades training, data centre jobs or construction careers, Meta’s AWA programme could become a useful opportunity.

Applicants should check official programme details before applying, including eligibility, location, start date, certificate details, job role, pay and work requirements.
