The registration process for CAT 2026 has officially begun on August 3, opening the door for thousands of students aspiring to pursue MBA and postgraduate management programmes at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other leading business schools across India. Candidates can submit their applications through the official website, iimcat.ac.in, with the registration window remaining open until September 15 at 5 PM.

This year, IIM Indore CAT 2026 will oversee the conduct of the examination. As one of India's most competitive management entrance tests, CAT attracts lakhs of applicants every year who seek admission to prestigious management institutions. CAT Convener Professor Aditya Billore has advised candidates to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute technical issues and delays.

CAT 2026 Registration Process and MBA Admission Details

Candidates interested in MBA admission 2026 must ensure they meet the eligibility requirements before applying. Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 50 percent marks or an equivalent grade. Relaxations for reserved category candidates will be provided as per government norms.

The CAT 2026 registration process allows candidates to select up to five preferred examination cities. The test will be conducted across nearly 170 cities nationwide, providing convenient access to applicants from different regions of the country.

CAT Exam 2026 Pattern, Eligibility and Important Dates

The CAT exam 2026 is scheduled for November 29 and will be conducted in a computer-based format. The examination duration will be 120 minutes and will consist of three sections:

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
  • Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
  • Quantitative Ability (QA)

Each section will have a fixed time limit of 40 minutes, and candidates will not be allowed to switch between sections during the examination.

Results for CAT 2026 are expected to be announced during the first week of January 2027. Candidates can download their scorecards from the official website once results are declared. The CAT score will remain valid until December 31, 2027, making it useful for admissions across multiple academic cycles.
