New Jersey Enters Top 10 Star Wars-Obsessed States
New Jersey has ranked No. 10 among the most Star Wars-obsessed states in the U.S., according to new search data released ahead of May the Fourth 2026. The study recorded more than 42,000 Star Wars-related searches in New Jersey during a recent 24-hour period, showing that the force remains strong across the Garden State.
Prequel Trilogy Leads Fan Interest
The data suggests New Jersey fans are especially drawn to the prequel era. Officials behind the study said 43.2% of local fan interest centered on the prequel trilogy, while 29.9% favored the original trilogy. Spin-off titles accounted for 18.1% of interest, while the sequel trilogy drew 8.8%, pointing to a wide generational split among Star Wars viewers.
California, Texas and Florida Lead National Rankings
Nationwide, California topped the list with more than 255,000 searches, followed by Texas with over 154,000 and Florida with about 106,000. The most searched Star Wars film in 2026 was “Revenge of the Sith,” with more than 146,000 searches in one day. “Rogue One” and “A New Hope” followed closely, proving that both classic and modern franchise entries continue to command attention.
For New Jersey fans, the ranking adds extra energy to May the Fourth celebrations, as search trends show Star Wars remains more than nostalgia — it is still a major pop culture force.
