Drunk Driver Crashes Into Fort Worth Home, Family Unhurt

A Fort Worth family is counting their blessings after a suspected drunk driver plowed through their home Saturday night, narrowly missing their sleeping 2-year-old’s bedroom. Though no injuries were reported, the crash caused major structural damage and forced the family to temporarily relocate.

The incident occurred around 8:04 p.m. on Steinburg Lane in South Fort Worth. A red Toyota sedan, allegedly driven by 27-year-old Alianna Batista Hernandez, slammed into the front of the McAnally family’s home at high speed. The car barreled through the room where the family's youngest child usually sleeps before coming to a stop in the living room just inches from where family members were gathered.

Ben McAnally, the father, recounted the chilling moment to media. "I was standing right here, and Wes was on the corner of the couch right there, and it stopped right here," he said, describing how close the car came to his 2-year-old son.

Inside the home at the time were Ben, his wife Marseya, and their three children, aged 12, 10, and 2. Miraculously, no one was injured. The children were scattered across the house, and the toddler was not in his usual room when the crash occurred. Following a field sobriety test at the scene, Hernandez was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI). Her front bumper was later found inside the damaged home, propped against the wall where young Wes normally sleeps.

Marseya McAnally expressed her mixed emotions: "We are just so grateful for everyone not being hurt and coming out of this unscathed. But at the same time, we have to rebuild everything we have worked for the last 17 years."

Currently, the McAnallys are living in a hotel, with assistance from the American Red Cross. Despite their resilience, the family says they do not plan to return to the home due to previous near-misses involving reckless drivers on their street. The crash has once again raised concerns about speeding and impaired driving in residential neighborhoods. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
