Chicago Pride Parade 2026: Route, Street Closures and CTA Guide

CHICAGO — The Chicago Pride Parade 2026 will step off at 11:00 AM CDT on Sunday, June 28, with a two-mile route through Uptown, Lakeview and Lincoln Park. The free 55th annual event is scheduled to run until 2:00 PM and carries the theme “Free to Be Proud.”

Chicago Pride Parade 2026 route and viewing areas

The parade stages at Sheridan Road and Broadway, but public viewing begins at Grace Street and Broadway. It will move south on Broadway and Halsted Street, east on Belmont Avenue, back to Broadway, then south to Diversey Parkway and east toward Cannon Drive.

The busiest viewing stretch is expected on Halsted between Belmont and Addison. Organizers identify Broadway between Belmont and Oakdale, Belmont between Halsted and Broadway, and Diversey near Clark as generally less crowded. An accessible viewing area and accessible restrooms will be available near 600 W. Diversey.

Street closures and parking restrictions

Street closures may begin as early as 8:00 AM. No-parking restrictions start at 2:00 AM on sections of Broadway, Halsted, Diversey, Waveland, Racine, Grace, Sheridan, Clarendon and nearby streets. Some restrictions around Halsted, Belmont, Sheffield, Clark, Wellington, Addison and Aldine continue until 7:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Drivers should follow posted signs because vehicles may be towed. Public transportation is recommended.

CTA routes, crossings and prohibited items

CTA says the Red Line stations at Sheridan, Addison and Belmont and Brown Line stations at Wellington and Diversey provide access to the route. Belmont is expected to be especially crowded. Bus routes including the No. 8, 22, 36, 76, 77, 78, 80, 151 and 152 are scheduled for reroutes from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Sunday. Organizers also say Metra will add trains or capacity on several lines.

Designated pedestrian crossings are at Addison, Cornelia and Buckingham along Halsted, and at Briar and Wellington along Broadway.

Alcohol, bicycles, scooters, coolers, drones, fireworks, folding chairs, propane tanks, tents, tripods, selfie sticks, unauthorized vending and weapons are prohibited. Attendees should bring water, sunscreen and a charged phone, allow extra travel time and follow directions from event staff and public safety personnel.

The advance restrictions matter because parking and transit disruptions will begin hours before the parade and continue after it ends.
