The much-anticipated Alameda County Fair 2025 kicks off Friday in Pleasanton, bringing with it a vibrant mix of entertainment, rides, food, and family-friendly attractions that will run through July 6. The opening night will feature a live concert by the legendary band WAR, followed by a spectacular fireworks and drone show at 9:30 p.m. Drone shows will continue nightly after each concert, excluding July 4.
Concerts are part of the Big O Tires Concert Series and include performances from renowned artists like Air Supply, Colbie Caillat, Sugar Ray, Gym Class Heroes, and Too $hort. Visitors can enjoy these shows from Wednesday to Sunday throughout the fair.
Exciting Attractions and Events
Fairgoers can look forward to a range of engaging activities and spectacles. From Movies on the Lawn at 6 p.m. nightly, to the Alameda Fair Carnival with its Giant Wheel, White Water Log Flume, Mega Flip, and more, there’s no shortage of fun. The action continues with hot air balloon rides, camel rides, a BMX stunt show, tractor pulls, and the thrilling Rodeo Showdeo.
Saturday features the famous Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest at 1 p.m., while Friday debuts the new Safeway Barn part of a $10 million sustainable farm exhibit complete with bifacial solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system.
Food lovers will find fair classics like funnel cakes, corn dogs, nachos, and ice cream, while shopping enthusiasts can browse jewelry, hats, caricatures, and henna stalls. Animal lovers can enjoy pony rides, pig races, petting zoos, and livestock competitions. Special events include Fiesta at the Fair on June 22 with multicultural performances, and a Wine Tasting Fest on June 28.
The fair is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., with admission gates closing at 9:30 p.m. On July 4, hours run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and gates close at 4 p.m. Tickets are $19.80 for general admission, $16.50 for children and seniors, and free for kids under 5.
