Argentina Fans Cycling to 2026 World Cup Stop in Fort Worth

Three Argentine fans cycling to the 2026 World Cup reached Fort Worth, Texas, during the weekend of Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, 2026, after traveling roughly 10,000 miles through 17 countries.

The cyclists — Vicente Conculini, Miguel Silio and Yamandú Martínez — are longtime friends from Gualeguaychú, Entre Ríos, Argentina. Their journey, known on social media as “Enbiciando al Mundo,” began on Saturday, August 16, 2025, as they set out by bicycle toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

Argentine Cyclists Bring World Cup Journey to North Texas

NBC 5 DFW reported on Monday, May 18, 2026, that the trio stopped in Fort Worth after crossing into Texas from Mexico. During the North Texas visit, they explored the city, bought cowboy hats and shared mate, the traditional South American herbal drink often associated with friendship and conversation.

The trip has followed a long route from Argentina through Latin America and into the United States. By February 2026, El Diario de Hoy reported that the cyclists had already covered more than 10,000 kilometers across 13 countries on their way north. By the time they reached Fort Worth, NBC 5 DFW reported that the total had grown to about 10,000 miles across 17 countries.

Route, Social Media and Verified Quotes

The cyclists document the trip on Instagram under @enbiciandoalmundo, where the account describes Miguel Silio, Yamandú Martínez and Vicente Conculini as traveling from Gualeguaychú to the United States by bicycle.

Silio told Reuters before the journey that soccer is deeply tied to Argentine identity, saying, “Like all Argentines, soccer is a passion.” He also described the group’s average pace as about 100 kilometers per day.

The friends have faced difficult weather, demanding terrain and uncertain overnight stops. Earlier in the journey, Silio told El Diario de Hoy that the group slept in tents, on beaches, in churches, schools and hostels, depending on the help they received along the way.

Why Fort Worth Matters for Argentina Fans

North Texas is expected to be a major World Cup hub for Argentina supporters. The Houston Chronicle reported that Argentina will play Austria on Monday, June 22, 2026, and Jordan on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Regional planners expect about 100,000 Argentina fans in the Dallas-Fort Worth area during the tournament.

For Conculini, Silio and Martínez, the Fort Worth stop was more than a travel milestone. It connected their months-long cycling journey with one of the key U.S. regions where Argentina’s World Cup supporters are expected to gather in large numbers.
